Orto Family is the first urban garden to open in Taranto. We are dedicated to producing seasonal vegetables, which we then sell directly at the garden!
Our farming methods are natural: we do not use chemicals on the soil or on the vegetables, thus ensuring the healthiness of our products.
Orto Family was founded in 2017 as a project to help people rediscover nature and the rhythm of the seasons. The idea came from Antonluca Antonante, born in Taranto in 1992, who, despite not having a farming background, decided to create a community garden where families could grow crops, learn, and get together.
That dream has turned into a small rural community: today, more than fifty plots have been adopted by families, couples, and friends who take care of the land and share the harvest.
