At the beginning of the 18th century, San Donato was founded as a rural village for repopulation and vine cultivation, giving rise to the first elements of the farm: stables, an oven, a courtyard, a citrus grove, a well with a typical ngegna (water wheel), and an ancient rainwater collection system.
In the early 19th century, the countryside became prestigious: noble residences such as Casino Latagliata sprang up, with Mediterranean gardens, pergolas, and vegetable gardens. Restored in 2000 after a century of neglect, it recovered its chianche (stone slabs), oven, ngegna (water wheel), and colonnade, preserving its authenticity.
Today, Masseria San Donato blends history and tradition in a period atmosphere.
